Cambridge midfielder Paul Lewis could feature in Joe Dunne’s squad after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Lewis was on the bench for the 3-0 defeat against Colchester in the U’s last game.
Barry Corr will be hoping for a starting spot after the striker made late appearances in the team’s last two games.
However, Harrison Dunk is unlikely to feature due to a knee injury.
Forward Craig Davies could make a return to the Mansfield teamsheet against Cambridge following a hamstring injury.
An assessment over whether Davies can play will be made on Friday. The forward last played in Mansfield’s 1-0 victory over Carlisle on September 1.
Jacob Mellis however will remain sidelined against Cambridge.
The midfielder was given a three-match ban after admitting an FA misconduct charge for an incident during a pre-season friendly against Sheffield Wednesday.
