Paul Hurst quiet on possible Ipswich absentee

Ipswich boss Paul Hurst was giving little away over a mystery injured player ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match against high-flying Brentford.

Hurst – whose side are bottom of the table as he still looks for a first win as manager – revealed one player was a doubt for the game at Portman Road, but would not give any more details in his pre-match press conference.

Centre-back Toto Nsiala remains unavailable as he serves out at a three-match ban, while midfielder Flynn Downes will be hoping to retain his place after coming into the starting XI for the defeat at Hull on Saturday.

Midfielder Andre Dozzell (knee), Teddy Bishop (hamstring) and Emyr Huws (knee) all continue their recoveries.

Bees boss Dean Smith must decide whether to freshen up a side which has won its last three matches and are second in the table.

French forward Neal Maupay marked his return from a three-match ban with both goals in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Wigan so should lead the attack again, with Said Benrahma also hoping to keep his place.

Defender Rico Henry has returned to light training following a serious knee injury, but is not yet expected to be involved.

Full-back Moses Odubajo, also working his way to full match fitness after a long-term knee problem, has been in action for the Brentford B side and could soon be available for a belated debut.
