Bobby Linn’s hat-trick guided Arbroath to a 3-1 win over Forfar as the Ladbrokes League One leaders extended their unbeaten start to the season.
Experienced forward Linn grabbed the opener at Gayfield Park before visitors Forfar levelled in first-half stoppage time with Ross Cunningham’s free-kick.
Top scorer Linn restored Arbroath’s lead in the 50th minute and completed his treble after 63 minutes with a fine free-kick.
Raith Rovers also remain undefeated but they let a winning position slide by and were held 1-1 at Brechin City, to fall two points behind Arbroath.
Kevin Nisbet drove home a 65th-minute penalty for Raith after Chris Duggan was fouled by Euan Smith, but Boris Melingui headed home a free-kick from Callum Tappings with three minutes left to play for a Brechin leveller.
East Fife won for the first time at home in the league this season, coming from behind to beat Airdrieonians 2-1 and climb off the foot of the table.
Cammy Russell put Airdrieonians ahead in the 74th minute but East Fife were level almost immediately, with Liam Watt lobbing in from the edge of the penalty area. Rory Currie then grabbed the 88th-minute winner.
Dumbarton also won for the first time at home this term. They too overcame a deficit and earned a 2-1 victory against Montrose, who fell to the foot of the table.
Craig Johnston’s header had nudged Montrose ahead in the 42nd minute but Andy Dowie levelled after 69 minutes and a penalty from Ross Forbes two minutes later put Dumbarton ahead. Montrose had Michael Bolochoweckyj sent off to hinder their hopes of an equaliser.
Stranraer were 2-0 home winners against Stenhousemuir thanks to goals from Kyle Turner and Innes Cameron.
