Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri believes that it is normal that Cristiano Ronaldo was unhappy to miss out on being named UEFA Player of the Year for the past season.
The now Juventus player was named best striker but the overall award went to Luka Modric.
"It is normal for him to be angry, last season he was the top scorer in the Champions League," said Allegri.
"This is the test that you always want to be the best and for us this is an advantage."
Ronaldo decided not to attend the UEFA awards ceremony in Monaco.
"His absence is a personal decision and you have to respect that," continued Allegri.
Juventus now face Manchester United, Valencia and Young Boys in the Champions League groups stage. This weekend they play Parma in Serie A where Ronaldo and Mario Mandzukic will play in attack.
