A last minute Jamille Matt strike secured Newport a 3-2 League Two win over Notts County at Rodney Parade.
Matt’s shot won the contest four minutes after Kristian Dennis appeared to have salvaged a point for the visitors.
In an action packed first half, Kane Hemmings put Notts County ahead before Fraser Franks and Mark Harris turned the game on its head.
The visitors opened the scoring when Enzio Boldewijn’s cross found Hemmings unmarked in the box who proceeded to tap the ball into net.
But Newport hit back with two goals in the space of two minutes. Franks grabbed the equaliser when his head connected with Matty Dolan’s corner.
Harris’ shot found the back of the net after hitting the post meaning the Exiles turned around 2-1 ahead at the interval.
Despite appearing to fade out of the game a Boldewijn cross found Dennis unmarked and he headed home.
But Matt secured all three points with a tap in at the far post after a neat delivery from Dolan.
