Mark Duffy to be assessed ahead of Sheffield United’s clash with Norwich

Sheffield United will check on midfielder Mark Duffy as an illness bug has hit the squad ahead of the Sky Bet Championship clash against Norwich.

Duffy came off at half-time in the Carabao Cup tie against Hull on Tuesday night and is one of a couple of players continuing to be assessed before Saturday’s game.

New signing Oliver Norwood made his debut against Hull, while captain Billy Sharp replaced Duffy for the second half and scored a late equaliser so is expected to come back into the side.

Forward David McGoldrick continues to be assessed following a dead leg.

Norwich midfielder Kenny McLean has been ruled out until after the international break with a ligament injury picked up in training.

Defender Ivo Pinto and midfielder Todd Cantwell are sidelined by illness, while Emi Buendia has just returned to training after being given leave following the birth of his second child.

Midfielders Tom Trybull and Marco Stiepermann should both be available having shaken off minor knocks from the midweek cup win over Stevenage.

Full-back Jamal Lewis is also expected to travel, but striker Carlton Morris (knee) and long-term absentee Matt Jarvis (ankle) continue their rehabilitation.
