Gateshead remain unbeaten after Boreham Wood draw

Steven Rigg kept Gateshead’s unbeaten Vanarama National League start intact with a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Boreham Wood.
The home side took the lead with the final attack of the first period. Keiran Murtagh whipped in a free-kick for defender David Stephens to head in past Aynsley Pears.
Pears kept the Tynesiders in it in the second half with an excellent parry, this time denying Murtagh a second.
Josh Umerah also hit the side-netting when well-placed as Boreham failed to make their dominance count.
Steve Watson’s men had won their first three games and showed their fighting spirit to save the match against the run of play. Substitute Rigg headed in Greg Olley’s corner two minutes from time.
