Swindon search for solution to defensive frailties

Swindon manager Phil Brown will be looking for a vastly-improved defensive performance against Carabao Cup visitors Forest Green.

Town have conceded six goals in their first two league games, including four at Lincoln on Saturday, and Brown is scouring the loan market for potential solutions.

Brown kept the same side against opening opponents Macclesfield and Lincoln, but changes are expected on Tuesday.

Striker Marc Richards continues to make impressive progress from a shoulder injury and could be in the mix, while right back Kyle Knoyle might be handed an opportunity after missing the Lincoln game.

Forest Green manager Michael Cooper will return to his former club, with an emphasis on keeping his team’s momentum going.

They have started the league campaign strongly, collecting four points from a possible six, and Cooper has pretty much a fully fit squad to select from.

Reuben Reid looks set to lead the Forest Green attack after his goalscoring performance against Oldham on Saturday.

And having claimed five goals in two games so far, Cooper’s team could make life tough for a Swindon side currently vulnerable at the back.
