New signing Vincenti set for Macclesfield debut

Midfielder Peter Vincenti is set to make his debut for Macclesfield in Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Grimsby.
Macclesfield boss Mark Yates managed to secure the services of the 32-year-old on transfer deadline day following his release by Coventry and he is poised to go straight into the Silkmen’s team against the Mariners.
With the exception of Elliott Durrell, who continues to recover from a groin injury, Yates has a fully-fit squad to choose from going into the first league game at Moss Rose for six years.
While Yates will be looking to build on a spirited opening performance at Swindon, Grimsby manager Michael Jolley needs to lift his side following their disappointing 4-1 home defeat by Forest Green.
But the Mariners will be without midfielder Elliott Whitehouse and striker Harry Cardwell.
Whitehouse is expected to miss the majority of the season with a knee injury while Cardwell has yet to return to training after suffering a foot injury in pre-season training.
History points to a draw with seven of the clubs’ previous 12 meetings all finishing in stalemate.
