Stevenage could hand out a host of competitive debuts as they start their Sky Bet League Two campaign at home to promoted Tranmere on Saturday.
Manager Dino Maamria has been busy in his first transfer window as Boro manager, bringing in no fewer than 13 new faces.
Midfielder Donovan Makoma is the latest acquisition, having joined from Barrow last Friday.
Other new signings in line for their debuts include Jamal Campbell-Ryce, James Ball, Paul Farnan and Ben Nugent.
Tranmere return to the Football League for the first time in three years.
Micky Mellon could hand a second debut to striker Cole Stockton, who rejoined from Carlisle earlier this week.
Stockton is one of 10 summer recruits for Rovers as the likes of Ollie Banks, Zoumana Bakayogo and Liverpool loanee Shamal George push for their debuts this weekend.
Mellon does go into the game with a number of injury doubts as Adam Buxton (hernia), Evan Gumbs (leg) and Liam Ridehalgh (knee) all look set to miss the opening game of the campaign.
