The investigators of the Catalan Police, Civil Guard and the National Police have managed to find out that the jihadist cell that bombed Las Ramblas in Barcelona really wanted to do it so at the Camp Nou during the match against Real Betis.
Researchers analysed Mohammed Hichamy's mobile phone and discovered that he had conducted Google searches on Camp Nou information.
How the Barcelona and Cambrils bombing took place
As reported on Wednesday by El Periodico de Catalunya, the terrorists made access searches and looked at stadium opening hours during the week of the attack.
In addition, a saleswoman at an official Barcelona store confirmed that, days before the attacks, two members of the cell were buying products from the club.
