ARSENAL manager Unai Emery has given an update on the future of Aaron Ramsey with Barcelona rumoured to be circling.

Ramsey is out of contract at the Emirates next summer and recent reports have suggested Barca are interested in taking the midfielder to Spain.

Having lost Jack Wilshere on a free this summer, the Gunners are believed to be reluctant to see Ramsey do the same.

The 27-year-old has shone at the Emirates since joining from Cardiff City in 2008.

He has gone on to net two FA Cup winning goals while also twice being voted as fans' player of the season.

Ramsey missed Arsenal's penalty shootout victory over Chelsea having suffered a muscle injury in the warm-up prior to the International Champions Cup tie in Dublin.

That could put off potential suitors with the Wales international now a doubt for the new season.

But Emery is not paying any attention to transfer speculation with Arsenal preparing for their opening game of the Premier League against Manchester City next Sunday.

When asked the latest update on Ramsey's future and whether he will sign a new contract, Emery said: "I don't know. That is one question for the club and for the player.

"I am very concentrated. I am focused. My focus is thinking every day for training, the player, for the match against Lazio on Saturday and then Manchester City.

"The contract is one question for the club and for the player.

"Our opinion, my opinion is clear, I want him to be with us. But it is one question for continuing speaking the player and the club.

"My opinion is he's professional. He's a player I want in this team."

Arsenal continued their pre-season schedule by beating Chelsea on penalties last night in the International Champions Cup.

Antonio Rudiger had put the Blues ahead but Alexandre Lacazette netted in stoppage time as the match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Petr Cech, who had saved a penalty from Alvaro Morata in normal time, then stopped Ruben Loftus-Cheek's spot-kick in the shootout as Arsenal were victorious.

New Gunners signings Sokratis and Matteo Guendouzi both started for Emery's side with Cech taking the place of Bernd Leno.

Lucas Torreira has also moved to the Emirates this summer alongside Stephan Lichtsteiner and Emery suggested that's the end of Arsenal's business.

"At the moment I am very happy with the players who are here with us," Emery added. "I am telling you we are speaking inside, we are OK."

Lacazette scored Arsenal's equaliser against Chelsea after replacing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the second half.

There have been many doubts over whether the two can, or indeed will, play together this season.

But Spaniard Emery has no doubts that his stars can be a success as Arsenal look for their first Premier League title since 2004.

Emery added: "I am happy with how we built up tonight; the possession with the ball and breaking the opposition line and then for the finishing, we want to continue to improve for that.

"But we have very good strikers in Lacazette, Aubameyang and Nketiah.

"For me, the best situation tonight is to make chances for strikers and get goals.

"I believe in the future, we are going to get goals with these strikers."
