Kenny Miller wants Lions to show more bite

Player-boss Kenny Miller wants to see Livingston score more goals after a 2-0 win over Berwick sealed their place in the last 16 of the Betfred Cup.

Goals from Jack Hamilton and Jack McMillan ensured the Lions topped Group F and kept their unbeaten record intact.

Miller was happy enough but felt they could have been more clinical.

He said: “It had a similar feel to the other games, we were totally dominant.

“I don’t think I’ve seen so many clearances off the line. A few of them would have been flying into the back of the goal.

“Jack cleared one of them for them, and a couple of blocks from the centre-backs was outstanding.

“It should have been more, it would have been nice to have a three, four or a five on the card.

“It’s a clean sheet though, three points and top of the group.

“We’re a month in and we’ve conceded one goal over the course of that, which is pleasing.”

It was youngster Hamilton’s first strike for the club after spells out on loan to Penicuik Athletic and Berwick last season and Miller believes he is showing promise.

He said: “He’s unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet last week but today it was a really good finish, which puts the nerves at ease when you get an early goal like that.

“I’m happy with the way he is progressing. He has a long way to go and a lot to learn but he’ll get there, he has got a lot of really good attributes for such a young lad.”
