Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic relaxes with stunning wife Raquel Mauri on luxury yacht after World Cup final heartache

IVAN RAKITIC put his World Cup woes behind him as he relaxed on a yacht with his stunning wife.

The Croatian star jetted off for a well-deserved break after his side lost 4-2 to France in the final of the competition.

Rakitic played 71 matches during the 2017/18 season - more than any other player in Europe.

Making the most of his short break, the 30-year-old has been lapping up the sunshine with Raquel Mauri.

The midfielder shared an image of the loved-up couple on the yacht to his 11 million followers on Instagram.

He glanced into the distance as his former coffee shop worker partner showed off her figure in a bright red swimsuit.

Rakitic has been married to Raquel since 2013 and they have two children together, Althea and Adara.

But the World Cup star has admitted that he asked her out "20 or 30 times" before she finally accepted.

He met Raquel in a coffee shop before he signed for Sevilla in 2011 and he said he went there every day just to see her face.

Before Croatia faced France in the final, Rakitic asked his wife if he can have the World Cup tattooed on his forehead if his team win.

He has been given an extended break after his heroics and is expected to miss the majority of Barcelona's pre-season matches.

A number of World Cup stars have decided to unwind after the competition in Russia.
