Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has admitted he is "excited" to work with new Gunners boss Unai Emery after the departure of long-term previous incumbent Arsene Wenger.
The Nigerian, 22, has been at Arsenal since the age of six, and will be travelling with the Super Eagles to Russia for the World Cup this summer.
But despite the tournament in Russia now coming into view, Iwobi has suggested he is looking forward to the commencement of domestic football, under the tutelage of new manager Unai Emery.
"[Wenger] has been there for me since I joined the club and has been very inspirational and influential on my career, but I am excited having our new manager next season," Iwobi said, via Goal.
"It has always been my childhood dream [to play for Arsenal]. I have been playing for Arsenal since I was six.
"The fact I am representing them now is like a dream come true. I am always proud to wear the Arsenal colours, and long may it continue."
Iwobi managed to make 39 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions in 2017-18, a career high for the Lagos-born player.
Despite that saliency in Wenger's plans last term, however, Iwobi only struck three times last term, with the hope from many at the club that the youngster has more to give in the coming years.
More recently Iwobi scored in Nigeria's 2-1 friendly loss to England at Wembley last weekend – the first Nigerian goal ever scored against England in three meetings.
