Arsene Wenger says he is no longer involved in Jack Wilshere's contract negotiations but remains "convinced" the midfielder will commit his future to Arsenal.
Wilshere has made 37 appearances in all competitions this season after spending the previous campaign on loan at Bournemouth.
The 26-year-old's current contract expires at the end of the season, but Arsenal are believed to be working on a deal to extend his stay at the Emirates.
Wenger has repeatedly spoken of his preference for Wilshere to stay at the club, but a breakthrough in the talks has yet to me made.
However, Wenger believes negotiations are are going well and insists Wilshere is welcome to his advice if needed.
"The latest conversation I had with Jack, it looks positive for the club," said the outgoing Arsenal boss, according to Sky Sports.
"I am not involved any more in negotiations but of course I'm still in touch with Jack. If he wants my advice, I will give it to him.
"I am convinced, like I was always, that his future is here. It was always my wish and I think it will happen, yes."
Wilshere's other options
In March, the Mirror claimed Juventus had made an approach for Wilshere, who will be available on a free transfer this summer.
More recently, the Telegraph reported interest from both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton, clubs that would give Wilshere the opportunity to stay in England.
Both reports claim Wilshere has already turned down one contract offer from Arsenal, which would have seen him earn a reduced weekly salary.
With that in mind, his next destination could potentially depend on who is willing to offer the most money.
