Kallum Higginbotham scored twice as Dunfermline secured a place in the Ladbrokes Premiership play-off quarter-final with a 4-0 win against 10-man Dumbarton.
Craig Barr received a red card after just nine minutes for clattering into Dunfermline’s Andy Ryan and the hosts made them pay with three first-half goals.
Higginbotham volleyed home Fraser Aird’s cross in the 18th minute before doubling his tally for the day after 25 minutes from another Aird assist.
Former Kilmarnock forward Higginbotham almost grabbed his hat-trick but saw a 40-yard strike hit the crossbar before Aird got on the scoresheet just before half-time.
Ryan Williamson added a fourth goal, his first for the club, in the 65th minute as the Pars secured fourth place in the Ladbrokes Championship.
Dunfermline will play Dundee United in the first leg of their quarter-final on Tuesday, with the return leg at East End Park on Friday.
Dumbarton were already condemned to a place in the Championship relegation play-off, where they will play Arbroath in the semi-finals, after finishing in ninth place.
