Newport will assess midfielder Josh Sheehan before their final Sky Bet League Two home game of the season against Cambridge.
Sheehan started for the first time in over a month against Accrington on Tuesday and impressed for 71 minutes until fatigue set in.
Scot Bennett hopes to figure after being troubled by a foot injury which ruled him out of the midweek victory.
But Exiles boss Michael Flynn could keep faith with the side which shocked the league leaders for only a second win in seven games.
Barry Corr returns to the Cambridge squad after sitting out the midweek goalless draw at Morecambe.
Corr has scored three goals in as many games since missing seven weeks with a groin problem, and U’s interim coach Joe Dunne has been mindful of his workload.
Bulgarian goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov could feature again after making his English Football League debut against the Shrimps.
Cambridge only named five substitutes on Tuesday, but the availability of youngsters Tom Knowles and Matt Foy could allow them a full complement of seven this time around.
