Tranmere keep Macclesfield waiting as National League title fight goes on

Tranmere kept their slim Vanarama National League title hopes alive with a 1-0 victory at Dover.
Micky Mellon’s second-placed side are seven points adrift of Macclesfield, who have two matches remaining, and Tranmere have a game in hand on the leaders.
Andy Cook could have had a brace before he broke the deadlock for Rovers with his 26th goal of the season in all competitions in the 39th minute.
The striker capitalised on a mistake by Manny Parry and poked the ball past Dover goalkeeper Mitch Walker from close range.
Walker had to be at his best at the start of the second half to deny Connor Jennings before Cook headed straight at the Dover keeper.
Rovers midfielder Oliver Norburn drilled an effort just wide in the 58th minute and Cook went close with a speculative 25-yard strike moments later as the visitors saw the game out.
