Newport squad stretched for Swindon clash

Newport are short on numbers for their attempt to dent Swindon’s Sky Bet League Two play-off prospects.
Paul Hayes (calf) and Marlon Jackson (hamstring) are expected to join Shawn McCoulsky – who is unlikely to play again this season after being diagnosed with a heart condition called pericarditis – on the casualty list.
Mark O’Brien (knee) is also expected to miss out, along with long-term absentee Joss Labadie.
Josh Sheehan could be drafted into midfield as struggling County seek to register only a second win in 13 league games.
Swindon hope to include skipper Olly Lancashire, even though manager Phil Brown has revealed the defender is suffering from a serious spinal problem.
Lancashire has started the last two games after six weeks out, but he limped out of Tuesday’s home draw against Yeovil with a calf problem.
Ryan McGivern stands by should Lancashire fail to recover in time, while midfielder Amine Linganzi is fit again after a long absence.
Kellan Gordon and top scorer Luke Norris remain absent with shoulder injuries, although Swindon hope the latter could feature again this season.
