Joel Asoro in race to be fit for Wednesday clash

Sunderland will run the rule over young forward Joel Asoro ahead of Sheffield Wednesday’s Easter Monday trip to the Stadium of Light.
The Sweden Under-21s striker missed Friday’s 4-1 victory over high-flying Derby after he suffered a head injury on international duty. He will be checked ahead of Monday’s clash.
On-loan Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria (back and ribs) also missed out against the Rams and remains doubtful.
Jake Clarke-Salter, on loan from Chelsea, is still suspended after picking up two red cards in as many games.
Owls forward Fernando Forestieri could make his first start since August after coming off the bench to score against Preston on Good Friday.
Forestieri made his long-awaited return following a knee operation on Friday, coming on 12 minutes before the end and scoring Wednesday’s fourth goal as they beat their visitors 4-1.
And the 28-year-old is likely to play some part again.
Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood is back in training after recovering from a groin injury.
