Morton’s struggles continue as Dunfermline claim point

Play-off chasing Morton’s run without a win was extended to four games as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Dunfermline at East End Park.
Dunfermline could have taken the lead just 30 seconds into the game when Nicky Clark got the end end of Declan McManus’ pull-back but Derek Gaston dived low to his left to turn the effort away.
McManus then had another opportunity just before the break but he could only fire his effort into the side-netting.
The lively McManus had another effort deflected narrowly wide as the snowy conditions made things tough for both sides and Morton keeper Gaston had to get down low to stop a close-range shot from Callum Morris.
Gaston then produced a fine save diving away to his left to turn away Kallum Higginbotham’s effort from 25 yards.
Tom Beadling then saw his shot come back off the crossbar 15 minutes from the end for the hosts but neither side could find a way through.
