But the 31-year-old will no doubt have an extra spring in his step after being reunited with the Colombian singer.

The celebrity couple, who have two sons together, have been dating since 2011.

They have recently been forced to spend time apart as Shakira headed to the US to film a music video for her next track.

As you can see from her Instagram posts, despite being ten years the Spanish international's senior, her South American hot streak is still sizzling judging by her latest performance.

And although he did his best to hide from the cameras upon her return, Pique could not keep the grin off his face as he waited to see the love of his life.

The former Manchester United ace recently splashed out a whopping £140,000 on a stunning brand new Aston Martin DB9.

And after being reunited with Shakira, the World Cup winner has plenty to be feeling happy about.

But it remains to be seen whether he and the rest of Barcelona squad will still be smiling after the clash with Chelsea.

Lionel Messi secured the La Liga giants a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in the first-leg, and that vital away goal makes them huge favourites to overcome Antonio Conte's side.

But the Premier League side have tasted joy at the Nou Camp before in the knockout stages, defeating Barca on their way to winning the competition back in 2012.

And Pique may need more than Shakira's amazing voice to help him get over suffering another setback this week.
