Paul Cook has embarassment of riches for Wigan’s clash with Scunthorpe

Wigan manager Paul Cook has plenty of options at his disposal as he plans for the visit of Scunthorpe.
The Latics boss made six changes for Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Blackburn but with a virtually fully-fit squad to choose from he may be tempted to tinker again with a fixture backlog to contend with over the next two months.
Striker Will Grigg is set to keep his place after returning to the starting line-up with a goal against Rovers.
Nathan Byrne returned from a calf injury in that game but was substituted after 56 minutes and midfield could be an area where Cook looks to freshen up.
Scunthorpe will wait to see how striker Ivan Toney copes with a return to training this week following a groin injury.
Toney has missed the last two matches as has fellow forward Lee Novak (heel) but the latter has not trained this week and will not be available.
Another forward, Luke Williams, is out for a few weeks, although fears of a recurrence of a long-term hamstring injury have been allayed.
Defender Murray Wallace has not trained this week because of cramp while Kyle Wootton made his comeback from a hamstring problem with a midweek run-out for the reserves.
