Sheffield Wednesday defender Tom Lees could return to the starting line-up for the home game against Ipswich.
Centre-half Lees, sidelined since November due to a groin injury, stepped off the bench in Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Bristol City.
Lees replaced Daniel Pudil, who was forced off at half-time with an ankle injury and remains doubtful, while Frederico Venancio and Lucas Joao will also be assessed after sustaining unspecified knocks at the weekend.
Joost van Aken, Sam Hutchinson, Keiren Westwood, Fernando Forestieri, Gary Hooper and Kieran Lee all remain sidelined.
Ipswich striker Joe Garner has shaken off a knock in time and will be included in the squad.
Winger Mustapha Carayol, who was doubtful for Saturday’s postponed game at Hull through illness, should also be included.
Defender Tristan Nydam is hoping to feature after recovering from recent illness, while boss Mick McCarthy has no new injury worries.
Tom Adeyemi (hamstring), David McGoldrick (groin), goalkeeper Dean Gerken (hip), Emyr Huws and Andre Dozzell (both knee) remain long-term absentees.
