Nathan Baker will undergo a fitness test ahead of Bristol City’s Sky Bet Championship home game with Sheffield Wednesday.
The former Aston Villa defender pulled his hamstring in last weekend’s defeat at Cardiff after suffering minor concussion.
Striker Famara Diedhiou (knee) has been given the all-clear to play after being forced off in the final few minutes at Cardiff.
Eros Pisano (hamstring), Milan Djuric (groin) and Jens Hegeler (knee) are all back in training, but Callum O’Dowda (ankle) and Matty Taylor (hernia) remain on the treatment table.
Wednesday defender Tom Lees is in contention to return after three months out.
Lees has not played since the end of November following groin surgery, but he has trained this week and is an option as the Owls seek to bounce back from three straight defeats.
Sean Clare was ineligible for the midweek FA Cup defeat at Swansea and should return alongside goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith and fellow midfielder Joel Pelupessy, who were rested at the Liberty Stadium.
Jordan Thorniley could also be recalled after sustaining concussion last month, but Ross Wallace (knee) and Jack Hunt (hamstring) have joined the Owls’ lengthy injury list.
