Morton up to third after victory over Inverness

Morton extended their unbeaten run to five league games and climbed up to third in the Ladbrokes Championship table with a 2-0 win at Inverness.
Inverness thought they had taken a 21st-minute lead when Gary Warren headed Liam Polworth’s free-kick beyond Derek Gaston but the goal was ruled out for offside.
But it was the visitors who went ahead after 28 minutes when a long kick from goalkeeper Gaston was misjudged by the Inverness back-line and Scott Tiffoney got in behind the defence to prod home at the second attempt after his initial effort was blocked by a covering defender.
Inverness battled to get back into the game and Polworth fired wide from Aaron Doran’s cross just before the break when it seemed easier to score and Joe Chalmers curled a shot against a post after 58 minutes.
Gary Harkins then kept his cool from the penalty spot to make the game safe in the 70th minute after Tiffoney was brought down by Collin Seedorf.
