TRAGIC: Brother-in-law of Gareth Bale Alex Williams (r) killed himself last November

Alex Williams, 29, was living in a caravan with his ex-model partner and two kids when social services were called.

He wrote suicide notes on pictures of his two young children before filling his car with fumes, the inquest in Cardiff was told.

Grandfather Brian Jones found Alex unconscious in a Renault Clio at his home in Cyncoed, Cardiff.

Mr Jones gave chest compressions at the scene, but he died later on November 8 last year at Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

His partner Katie Rhys-Jones, 24, and he had lived in a hippy commune in Ibiza, Spain, called "Children of the Sun" last summer as a way of rejecting the materialistic lifestyle.

But the pair ran out of money and moved back to Wales, moving into a caravan near Bridgend when social services raised concerns about their children.

Alex worked at his dad's car showroom in Cardiff, valeting cars ready for customers.

He used to borrow his dad's £250,000 Lamborghini Aventador to drive around the city.

Dad Andrew Williams told the hearing: "He was anxious about an ongoing social services investigation.

"He tried to see the bright side but the levels of stress took their toll on him."

Alex and Katie were due to be top-table guests at Gareth's marriage to Emma Rhys-Jones later this year.

Assistant Cardiff coroner Thomas Atherton said there was a "substantial amount of prior planning," in the suicide.
