Charlton inflict another loss on MK Dons to move into play-off spots

Charlton moved up into the final play-off spot after beating MK Dons 2-1 to record their first win in three games and condemn their struggling hosts to a sixth successive defeat in all competitions.

Ahmed Kashi and Josh Magennis both found the net for the visitors while Kieran Agard netted a consolation for MK, but it was not enough for the Dons’ rookie boss Dan Micciche who has lost all of five his matches in charge.

The Addicks took a deserved lead after just 10 minutes when Conor McGrandles was dispossessed on the edge of his own penalty area, before Kashi took one touch and fired a powerful right-footed drive past keeper Lee Nicholls for his second goal of the season.

Karl Robinson – the former MK Dons boss – then saw his  men double their lead on the hour when Magennis nodded home his 12th goal of the campaign from Jake Forster-Caskey’s cross.

And despite the home side pulling one back through Agard just two minutes later from Robbie Muirhead’s corner, it proved only to be a consolation goal for MK who still remain six points adrift of safety.
