Forfar climbed off the bottom of the Ladbrokes League One table after recording an emphatic 5-1 victory over Stranraer.
Matthew Aitken got the hosts off to the perfect start when he scored two goals in the first six minutes.
And it was 4-0 before the break thanks to goals from Russell Dingwall and Greg Hurst.
Dylan Easton made it five in the 72nd minute before Paul Woods got a late consolation goal for Stranraer.
Alan Trouten scored twice – including a penalty in added time – as struggling Albion Rovers held leaders Raith Rovers.
Albion took the lead in the 11th minute through Trouten but the visitors were level five minutes before the interval when Euan Murray found the net.
Raith looked likely to claim all three points when Jason Marr headed into the back of his own net in the 82nd minute but Trouten scored from the spot in the third minute of added time to steal a point.
Second-placed Ayr beat East Fife 3-0 thanks to goals from Declan McDaid, Lawrence Shankland and Alan Forrest’s penalty.
Airdrieonians held off a late fightback from Queen’s Park to win 2-1.
A third-minute goal from David Brownlie and Darryl Duffy’s penalty had the home side 2-0 up at the break before Adam Cummins pulled one back for Queen’s Park late on.
Arbroath were held to a goalless draw by Alloa, who played with 10 men for the last 23 minutes after Callum Smith was given his marching orders.
