The Spaniard slammed the popular YouTube channel during his Q&A at the Oxford Union

"Have you heard what Hector Bellerin said about us, fam? It’s a joke, blud!”

Arsenal’s right-back has slammed ArsenalFanTV, calling the YouTube channel ‘so wrong’ and questioning the credibility of the fans who take part.

Bellerin’s damning assessment came during his Q&A at the Oxford Union when he was asked what he made of the fan-made channel.

"I don’t think there’s players who go on the internet to watch Arsenal Fan TV,” he replied.

"It does sometimes pop up on your timeline. I see it sometimes, some friends say ‘oh have you heard what that guy on ArsenalFanTV said?’

'I think it’s so wrong for someone who claims to be a fan and their success is fed off a failure. How can that be a fan?

"There’s just people hustling, trying to make money their way, which everyone is entitled to do.

More ‘bluds’ equals more views

"For us players it doesn’t affect us. If they want to have fun with it then have fun. When you grow you realise what is important to you to listen to.
“If a coach comes to me and tells me you’ve done something bad, I’m going to take that advice. If someone from ArsenalFanTV says ‘this guy needs to do this or that’ I’m not going to listen to him.

"They’re entitled to their opinion and the way they want to do it. If people find it funny then go watch it.”

To be fair, it is funny.

Not mincing his words

Bellerin’s point about Robbie, the creator and ‘host’ of ArsenalFanTV, profiting from the failures of the team he supports is an interesting one.

Videos following Arsenal defeats receive significantly more views compared to reactions to an Gunners victory.

Obviously Robbie and those involved with ArsenalFanTV have no impact on the outcome of the game but clearly Bellerin is questioning their legitimacy as fans if their success is ‘fed off failure’.

Those who feature regularly will undoubtedly have their say in return.
