Nathan Jones hails ‘outstanding’ Hatters

Luton boss Nathan Jones labelled his side “outstanding” as they hammered Crawley 4-1 at Kenilworth Road.
James Collins scored twice against his former side, while Olly Lee and Luke Berry were also on target.
Jones said: “That was absolutely outstanding and to be honest with you, it should have been a lot, lot more. We were better tonight than when we won eight and seven.
“Some of the football we played, I haven’t got adjectives to say, I was so proud of them.
“These (Crawley) have won seven out of eight and they look to play, they have a structure, how they want to play. But we went out, we got at them, we pressed them and some of the stuff we played was different gear.
“I wouldn’t like to see the possession stats, the chances, but that was as convincing as I’ve ever seen.”
Crawley chief Harry Kewell added: “I’m disappointed because that was not my team, that wasn’t us tonight.
“Full credit to Luton – they deserved it. The chances that Luton had came from us, no question about it.
“They didn’t cut us open once. I could go back through the whole video and every time they broke away and had a chance was when we gave a sloppy pass away or we got tackled or didn’t get the second ball.
“We didn’t do the ugly stuff – they did all the ugly stuff.
“I’m 100 per cent surprised at how badly we did but we’ll learn from it and press on.
“I was hoping to go in at half-time at 1-0 because that’s a dangerous score, but we left one of their strikers free at a corner and you know what’s going to happen.”
Karlan Ahearne-Grant’s goal with four minutes to go was a consolation for Crawley.
