Luke Hannant doubtful as Port Vale take on Exeter

Winger Luke Hannant is likely to miss Port Vale’s match against Exeter on Tuesday night with a foot injury.

Vale boss Neil Aspin said the January recruit from Gateshead was a “major doubt” for the match after sustaining the knock in Saturday’s humbling 5-1 defeat at Cheltenham.

Aspin could well swing the axe after that display, having kept his players back in the locker room for an hour at full-time to pick apart the performance.

Anthony Kay is suspended after picking up his 10th booking of the season, while Kjell Knops (knee) and Adam Yates (facial injury) remain long-term absentees.

Exeter defender Jordan Storey will miss the trip to the Potteries after suffering an ugly injury in the 1-1 draw with Wycombe.

The 20-year-old, making his home debut, took an elbow to the face and needed stitches inside and outside his mouth, though is not expected to be sidelined for long.

Pierce Sweeney was also injured in the match but could recover from a groin problem in time to play.

Troy Archibald-Henville should be available after sitting out the Wycombe match as he manages his fitness.
