Matt Taylor strike sees Swindon end Mansfield run

Matt Taylor finished off a wonderful team goal as Swindon overcame promotion rivals Mansfield 1-0 at the County Ground.
Taylor powered home the winner following good work from Keshi Anderson and Timi Elsnik in a swift Robins’ counter attack.
Swindon’s victory ended Mansfield’s nine-match unbeaten run in League Two and saw David Flitcroft’s side leapfrog the Stags.
The away side had a fine chance to open the scoring after 15 minutes when Conrad Logan’s long goal-kick fell into the path of Kane Hemmings, but his attempted lob over Reice Charles-Cook lofted just over the crossbar.
Swindon’s Anderson made a daring run towards goal and unleashed a shot that was parried over the bar by Logan.
The home side took the lead when Anderson burst past two Mansfield defenders before playing the ball to Elsnik, who flicked it on to Taylor and the midfielder composed himself before smashing the ball under Logan into the net.
Anderson nearly doubled Swindon’s lead but his goal-bound header was cleared off the line by Rhys Bennett.
Mansfield top scorer Danny Rose almost equalised five minutes from time, but his volley flew over the bar.
