Wrexham slipped from top spot in the Vanarama National League after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Halifax at the Racecourse Ground.
Macclesfield’s 2-1 win over Guiseley saw them leapfrog the Dragons and claim a two-point lead at the summit.
Scott Boden scored the opener for Wrexham when he met Kevin Roberts’ cross with an accurate header to find the corner of the goal in the 19th minute.
Halifax levelled shortly before half-time when Scott McManus got on the end of a cross from a short corner to beat Wrexham goalkeeper Chris Dunn.
Tom Denton had a couple of good chances for the visitors in the last quarter but no more goals were scored in the second half, with the hosts losing Paul Rutherford to a second yellow card in the final 10 minutes.
