Cristiano Ronaldo has backed Real Madrid to sign players for five positions in the summer
REAL MADRID star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly approved five summer signings but does not want Neymar to be among them.
The Spanish giants are enduring a dismal La Liga campaign by their high standards and currently sit fourth, 19 points adrift of leaders Barcelona.
And they'll be looking to splash the cash at the end of the season as they shake up their underperforming squad and seek to close the gap on their arch-rivals.
A whole host of top talent has been linked with moves to the Bernabeu with Florentino Perez thought to be drawing up a list of targets.
And the latest reports from Spain suggest Ronaldo is helping the Real president determine the positions he needs to make signings for.
According to Diario Gol, Ronaldo has given the thumbs up to Perez acquiring a new goalkeeper to replace current No 1 Keylor Navas.
The names in the frame for that role are David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois of Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.
Ronaldo is likewise keen for Real to bring in a top-level centre-back after Jesus Vallejo failed to fill the void left by Pepe's departure last summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo does not want Real Madrid to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain
The Portuguese is therefore angling for Perez to push through a deal for Leonardo Bonucci or Marquinhos.
Ronaldo wants Alvaro Odriozola signed from Real Sociedad to provide serious competition for Dani Carvajal at right-back.
Meanwhile, he'd apparently be happy for Goncalo Guedes to make the move from Paris Saint-Germain to fill a wide role.
Atop of wanting Real to snap up a goalkeeper, centre-back, right-back and winger, Ronaldo is desperate for a new striker to come in.
However, Diario Gol indicate he has blocked a raid for Ballon d'Or rival Neymar, as well as Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi.
Ronaldo's refusal to green light Neymar and Icardi's potential arrivals is supposedly reflected in his past demands to Perez.
Ronaldo is said to have previously stopped the Real president from signing Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kylian Mbappe.
