John White unavailable for Southend

Southend will be without injured defender John White for the visit of Sky Bet League One leaders Wigan.
Centre-back White was taken off during the second half of last weekend’s win over Peterborough, with scans showing ankle ligament damage which is expected to need around six weeks of recovery.
Captain Anton Ferdinand should return to the starting XI, but Sam Mantom, on loan from Scunthorpe until the end of the season, is working his way back to full fitness after an ankle problem.
Midfielders Anthony Wordsworth (calf) and Josh Wright (hamstring) continue their rehabilitation, along with centre-back Rob Kiernan (knee)
Nick Powell is expected to be fit for Wigan’s trip to Roots Hall.
The 12-goal midfielder hobbled off late on in last weekend’s victory over Gillingham but the move was described as precautionary.
New signing Devante Cole is likely to have to bide his time having not made the squad against the Gills, with boss Paul Cook warning him he will have to earn his place.
Jamie Walker made his debut as a substitute following his move from Hearts and will hope for more action. Midfielder Shaun MacDonald (knee) and defender Craig Morgan (hip) remain unavailable.
