Carlisle midfielder Jamal Campbell-Ryce could be handed a starting role against Colchester after impressing on his debut.
Former Barnet man Campbell-Ryce came off the bench at half-time in last weekend’s dramatic 4-3 League Two defeat at Wycombe and won the praise of manager Keith Curle as the Cumbrians overturned a 2-0 deficit to lead 3-2 before they were hit by a late double.
Striker Cole Stockton scored his first goal for the club at Adams Park in his second appearance, while midfielder Kris Twardek also caught the eye and both will hope for an extended run.
Kelvin Etuhu was used as a substitute for the second successive game after recovering from an ankle injury and is now pushing for a start.
Colchester look set to be without midfielder Sean Murray because of an ankle injury.
Defender Ryan Inniss has missed the last two matches with an ankle problem, so will be assessed.
Recent signings Ben Stevenson and Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe both came off the bench in last weekend’s win over Newport, so should be involved again.
Winger Brennan Dickenson is stepping up his recovery from nine months out with a serious knee injury, but midfielder Louis Dunne is in the early stages of recovery from his own ACL surgery.
