Arsenal ace Aubameyang probed by cops 'for trying to hit woman with his gold Lamborghini'

Arsenal's record £55 million signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was investigated by cops for trying hit a PR woman with his gold Lamborghini - which could have seen him jailed for five years.

Martina Wechsung, 48, filed a complaint to German prosecutors alleging she cheated death by inches as the supercar flashed past at 50mph outside Borussia Dortmund's training ground where the star used to play.

In a bizarre bust-up she claims which was sparked by his dad's anger over the player asking Martina to work for him - Aubameyang was also accused of branding her a 'whore' and a 'gold digger' on Facebook.

The German authorities spent almost two years probing her claims during which time Aubameyang, 28, was constantly linked to a transfer to Arsenal and other Premier League clubs such as Manchester City, but the striker's move to Arsenal only went ahead after the investigation was dropped - - leaving public relations executive Martina furious.

Divorcee Martina told last night how she became involved with Aubameyang after setting up a Borussia Dortmund club Facebook page in 2014.

She was inspired by wanting to keep her bedridden father, a lifelong Borussia Dortmund fan, updated on his favourite team's progress.

After commenting on Aubameyang's own official Facebook page, she says the star asked her to do some PR work for him.

She says he invited her to meet him at the club's training ground in March 2014 to formally reach an agreement over her working for him.

But in a bizarre twist, she alleges the player seemed to go crazy at the wheel of his £250,000 Aventador and ended up driving close to her at speed.

Martina believes the player's father Pierre, who also acts as his agent, had heard of their impending deal and was furious as it 'stepped on his toes', leaving Aubameyang in a panic at how to call off their PR arrangement.

Martina, who was waiting for him at the entrance to Dortmund's training ground, said: "The road from the training ground leading to the street outside is quite narrow, difficult for two cars from both sides to drive through.

"I was on the street, waiting where he told me to meet him.

"As soon as he saw me he sunk his head lower, gave his car the full throttle.

"I heard the revving of the car, saw it coming towards me in a blur of metal.

"It was terrifying - it felt like a guided missile bearing down upon me. He accelerated from 0 to about 60mph in just a few seconds in his Lamborghini.

"Only my quick reflexes saved me from being hit by the car.

" I would have hit the windscreen and flown over the car.

"I could have been killed or very badly injured if I had not jumped. I was shocked.

"It was all really strange because he later explained he thought I only existed on the internet and was not a real person."

In the following weeks Martina says she was branded a "gold digger" and even called a whore and a tramp by him on Facebook, messages seen by The Sun on Sunday.

Facebook closed down his personal page on March 22, 2014, for "breaching company standards" and said: "We are informing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang officially that his site is now removed."

She went on: "I developed a form of stress-related asthma as a result of all this.

"I held off for a long time before going to the Dortmund prosecutor last year to see if we could reach an agreement, but apparently not.

"I don't think the investigation that was opened examined anywhere near all the facts. This incident happened on a German road. For that alone he should have been punished."

Henning Kruse of the prosecutor's office in Dortmund confirmed an investigation was started into Aubameyang in February 2015 and ended last year.

Arsenal FC declined to comment.
