Aubameyang admits 'I am a crazy child' in apology to Borussia Dortmund fans

After officially leaving Borussia Dortmund for Arsenal for 63 million euros, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang went to social media to explain his decision to change clubs.

Transfer windows are often stressful times for both players and clubs and disputes between the two are sure to arrive about what is the best path for both. In Aubameyang's case, he wanted to leave, but the club didn't want to sell.

Due to this, their relationship soured and both sides were not happy.

In the end they both got what they wanted, but it was after a period of considerable tension in which the striker trained poorly, and on more than one occasion missed the team meetings in protest, resulting in a suspension.

Additionally, the player decided to organise a football match while Dortmund played in the league against Hertha Berlin, wearing, none other than the shirt of Ousmane Dembele, who had left the club in the summer.

Now in London, Aubameyang is happy with the Arsenal shirt but nonetheless wanted to send a farewell message to his former team's supporters, who saw him score 141 times in 213 games.

"I will never forget these four and a half years in Borussia because all of you gave me the strength to reach the level I reached," he said. "I thank the Dortmund family, the supporters, the club, the staff and my teammates.

"First of all, sorry for everything that happened in the last month. I wanted to leave last summer, but it could not be.

"Maybe I did not choose the best way to do it, but you all know that Auba is crazy, and yes, I am a crazy child, hahaha! [sic]

"Thanks to the whole BVB family, to the supporters, to the club, to the staff and, of course, to my teammates!"
