Macclesfield’s 11-match unbeaten National League run was ended in dramatic fashion following a 6-0 hammering at Fylde.
The hosts flew into a sixth-minute lead when Lewis Montrose headed in a Jon Smith corner at the near post.
Jack Muldoon doubled the advantage with a swerving 25-yard effort past Sam Ramsbottom in the 23rd minute.
The goalkeeper also rued his mishandling for the third when Sam Finley’s long-range effort slipped underneath his dive in the 34th minute.
When Smith rounded Ramsbottom to net with ease, it was 4-0 before the break, with the keeper substituted at half-time.
Finley added his second on the hour and Andy Bond (81) registered a sixth to round off the leaders’ misery.
