Luke Hendrie pushing for Shrewsbury debut

Luke Hendrie will be available again for Shrewsbury against Doncaster.

The midfielder, recently signed from Burnley, was unavailable for the midweek FA Cup replay against West Ham having been registered after the initial clash.

Hendrie is yet to make his debut for the Shrews having been an unused substitute against Blackburn, but he could be in line for his bow this time.

Paul Hurst’s side took their Premier League opponents all the way to extra time and their manager is concerned about fatigue.

Doncaster boss Darren Ferguson is expected to choose from an unchanged squad as his side bids to get back to winning ways.

Ferguson has no new injury or suspension worries after Rovers were held 1-1 at home by Plymouth last week – a second successive draw following a three-game winning run.

Midfielder Ben Whiteman, whose loan move from Sheffield United was made permanent last week, is pushing for a recall to the starting line-up after stepping off the bench against Plymouth.

Midfielder Luke McCullough returned to action for the development squad this week as he works his way back from a long-term knee injury, while defender Danny Andrew (knee) is also still out.
