Colchester club captain Luke Prosser hopes to feature against Grimsby

Club captain Luke Prosser will be hoping to be involved again when Colchester take on Grimsby.

The defender made his long-awaited first appearance of the season following a knee injury as a late substitute in last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at Wycombe.

Tom Lapslie will continue to be assessed on a thigh muscle injury, while midfielder Courtney Senior (knee) continues his recovery.

Midfielder Brandon Comley has seen his loan move from QPR become permanent, but forward Brandon Hanlan has returned to Charlton following the end of his temporary deal.

Grimsby striker Jamille Matt is available after having his red card against Newport rescinded.

Matt was sent off in the final minute of last weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Newport after being accused of using an elbow.

The Mariners also hope to have Siriki Dembele available, with the winger having resumed training following a back problem.

But long-serving goalkeeper James McKeown (groin) remains out and on-loan Jake Kean is set to deputise again.
