Bristol Rovers hold fellow League One strugglers Oldham to a draw

Bristol Rovers earned an away point for the second time in five days as they drew 1-1 at fellow Sky Bet League One strugglers Oldham.
The Pirates had not drawn a league game for 10 months before holding Walsall on Boxing Day, but they repeated the trick in an entertaining contest.
Oldham could have struck first as Aaron Holloway set up Dutch forward Queensy Menig, who dragged his shot off target.
Cameron Dummigan went close from distance before Rovers striker Ellis Harrison blasted high and wide.
Visiting keeper Adam Smith saved from Tope Obadeyi, but Rovers led in the 49th minute when Ryan Sweeney headed forward from halfway and Billy Bodin got behind the Oldham defence to lob keeper Johny Placide.
Sweeney almost doubled the lead from close range and, at the other end, Jack Byrne's effort deflected inches wide.
Oldham levelled in the 72nd minute when Marc Bola's foul on Ryan Flynn handed them a penalty. Craig Davies saw his spot-kick saved by Smith, but he was able to slot home the rebound.
Smith then showed brilliant reflexes to deny Holloway before Kean Bryan wasted the Latics' final chance.
