Ten-man Luton ease to victory against Forest Green

Goals from Alan Sheehan and Danny Hylton saw Sky Bet League Two leaders Luton Town ease to victory over struggling Forest Green despite having Jack Stacey sent off.

Sheehan put Luton ahead in first-half stoppage time and although Stacey was dismissed for a high boot on the hour, Forest Green keeper Brad Collins' error gifted Hylton the second.

Jordan Stevens and Christian Doidge both tested Hatters' stopper Marek Stech early, but the visitors grew into the half, Dan Potts heading wide before Elliott Lee fired into the side netting.

Hylton went close twice inside a minute, Collins down smartly to keep out his first effort before the striker curled a shot wide, but Sheehan would break the deadlock with virtually the last action of the half.

The centre-half worked a short corner with Hylton before drilling low across goal and in via the far post.

Stech's stunning save prevented Doidge from heading Forest Green level 10 minutes after the break before Stacey saw red after catching Dan Wishart.

The 10 men would double their lead in calamitous fashion however in the 68th minute, Collins slipping in the area to gift Hylton the simplest of tap-ins.

Harry Cornick fired wide as Luton chased a third, whilst Stech saved from Toni Gomez and Charlie Cooper as the Hatters held on to extend their unbeaten league run to six games.
