Cook considering changes before Wigan host AFC Fylde

Wigan boss Paul Cook has hinted he will make changes for the FA Cup second-round replay with AFC Fylde.

The 2013 winners named a virtually full-strength side for the initial meeting but Cook is mindful of having three games in eight days this time and could rest key forward Nick Powell among others.

Goalkeeper Christian Walton returned from a long-term ankle injury at the weekend and could keep his place as his deputy Jamie Jones (shoulder) is out until the new year.

Latics have no fresh injury concerns but remain without Craig Morgan (hip) and Shaun MacDonald (broken leg).

AFC Fylde will be without suspended defender George Edmundson after he received his fifth booking of the season in Saturday's defeat at Boreham Wood.

Boss Dave Challinor will be forced into at least two more changes as full-back Luke Burke and forward Andy Mangan, on loan from Wigan and Tranmere respectively, are both ineligible.

Josh Ezewele could return in place of Burke, while Jordan Richards started in the 1-1 draw between the two sides earlier this month.

The Coasters have beaten Wrexham and Kidderminster to reach this stage of the competition, while a third-round trip to Premier League club Bournemouth awaits the winners.
