Lazio 1-3 Torino: Torino earn first away win over Lazio in 24 years

Torino punished 10-man Lazio as they left the Stadio Olimpico with a rare 3-1 win.

The home side had Ciro Immobile sent off for violent conduct on the stroke of half-time, and Torino made the most of their one-man advantage to secure their first away win against Lazio for 24 years.

The visitors scored three times in 19 second-half minutes to leave Lazio reflecting ruefully on Immobile's red card, which was awarded by referee Piero Giacomelli after the former Borussia Dortmund forward appeared to move his head towards Torino defender Nicolas Burdisso.

Giacomelli reviewed the incident with the video assistant referee, before opting for a straight red card.

Alex Berenguer struck to put Torino ahead nine minutes after the break, then a long-range effort by Tomas Rincon doubled the advantage in the 64th minute.

Lazio dug deep to give themselves hope when Luis Alberto pulled a goal back five minutes later, but Simone Edera made the game safe for Torino after 73 minutes with a shot from outside the penalty area.

Genoa and Atalanta, meanwhile, will try again on Tuesday night after their league clash was postponed because of bad weather.
