Alan Forrest struck two minutes from time as Ayr United made it eight wins in a row with a 3-2 Ladbrokes League One victory over Queen's Park.

The win stretches the Honest Men's lead at the top of the table to four points, while Queen's Park remain rooted to the foot of the table.

Craig Moore put Ayr ahead from the penalty spot after 24 minutes when Lawrence Shankland was brought down, but the visitors turned things around with goals either side of the break.

Robbie Leitch headed home an equaliser in the 42nd minute before they went ahead when Craig Reid turned the ball past his own goalkeeper Jordan Hart three minutes after the break.

But Ayr rallied and Declan McDaif levelled after 79 minutes before Forrest struck the late winner.

Alloa Athletic climbed up to third place with a 2-0 win at struggling Forfar Athletic.

Kris Renton got both goals in the second half.

Ryan Wallace struck in the second half to earn 10-man Stranraer a 1-1 draw at East Fife.

Chris Duggan put the hosts ahead midway through the first half before Wallace levelled 20 minutes from time.

Stranraer finished with 10 men when Liam Dick was dismissed for a second yellow card.
