Speculation regarding the Brazilian’s future dominated headlines throughout the summer as Barca sought an injection of creativity to their midfield.

The Catalan club had three offers rejected for the 25-year-old but the Reds dragged their heels to prevent their star player from going.

Coutinho made it clear he wanted to leave by submitting a transfer request, but Jurgen Klopp was adamant that he’d be staying put at Anfield.

He’s since re-established himself in the Liverpool first-team and was imperious during Saturday’s thrashing of Brighton, scoring once and providing three assists.

His stunning form has led to rumours that Barcelona will revisit their attempts to bring him to the Nou Camp.

And according to Calciomercato, the La Liga giants are preparing a fresh January bid.

It is reported the offer will be in the region of €100m (£88.3m).

Klopp earlier this week laughed off suggestions that the club had set an asking price for Coutinho but it will take a substantial offer for the club to consider selling him mid-season.

The form of their devastating frontline means they’re still within touching distance of the title race and they can guarantee a place in the knockout stage of the Champions League this week.

Liverpool face Spartak Moscow on Wednesday before a mouth-watering Merseyside derby against Everton next Sunday.
