Barcelona look to extend year long winning streak at home in LaLiga

The Camp Nou will host Saturday's LaLiga match between Barcelona and Celta de Vigo and the Catalans will be hoping to maintain their one-year home winning streak.

Last year on December 3rd, El Clasico was played at the Camp Nou, in which a goal from Luis Suarez right before the break gave the home side the lead. As the minutes passed at the Blaugrana stadium, everything was indicating that the match would end in a 1-0 victory. However, Real Madrid kept their bullet for the last minute with Sergio Ramos managing to score a header.

That was the last time a team managed to take any points from the Camp Nou in LaLiga.

Since then, Barcelona first led by Luis Enrique and now by Ernesto Valverde have become a dominant team at their stadium. Lionel Messi and company have won their 18 matches played at home with a total of 70 goals and only 13 conceded.

A strong campaign in the domestic competition that has also extended to the Champions League in which the Catalan club have won four of their five games.

Despite this, the Blaugrana were held to a goalless draw against Juventus, as the Italians eliminated Barcelona from the Europan tournament. In addition, Valverde's side also fell in the Supercopa de Espana at home against Madrid with the final result being 3-1.

However, Barcelona's offensive potential at the Camp Nou is beyond doubt. This season, the Catalans have secured comfortable wins in all of their games, except their encounter with Sevilla, which ended in a dramatic 2-1.

Messi moves at ease in his home stadium and it costs the Argentine more to find the back of the net away from the Camp Nou.

There is no one like him with his spectacular scoring records and at the Camp Nou, Leo has achieved nine goals in six games with nobody else coming close to numbers like that.

His scoring problem appears when he plays away from home. In fact, in the last two games, he has only been able to score one goal, which occurred against Valencia at the Estadio Mestalla.

Nonetheless, Celta arrive ready to break this Barcelona streak at the Camp Nou.Their coach, Juan Carlos Unzue is well aware of his rivals and believes he has the players to overcome the Catalan giants.

In recent years, the Galician team have obtained great results against Barcelona and they will be looking to continue them.
